Hysteroscopy Guided Endo Biopsy
Endometrial biopsy under direct hysteroscopic visualization has become the new gold standard and a better alternative to blind Dilation and Curettage.
It is done under general anesthesia or a sedative. Will be discharged after a few hours when stable. Hysteroscopy is most often done as a daycare procedure. The patient may have mild cramping and vaginal bleeding for a day or two after the procedure.
Hysteroscopy provides direct visualization of the endometrial cavity and one can take the biopsy from the site which appears to be abnormal. Therefore, the chances of missing a pathology are minimal and this is the best approach for accurate diagnosis.
