Hysteroscopic Polypectomy

Endometrial polyps are localized overgrowths arising from the inner lining of the uterus (endometrium). In selected clinical situations, endometrial polyps may be associated with abnormal uterine bleeding, menstrual irregularities, infertility, implantation-related concerns, or other gynecological symptoms.

Hysteroscopic polypectomy is a minimally invasive gynecological endoscopic procedure in which a hysteroscope with a light source and camera system is introduced through the cervix into the uterine cavity for direct visualization and removal of endometrial polyps.

Specialized operative instruments are utilized through the hysteroscope to remove the polyps under direct visualization while preserving surrounding endometrial tissue as much as possible.

The procedure is generally performed as a daycare endoscopic procedure under anesthesia or sedation depending on the clinical indication, size and location of the polyp, and procedural requirements.

In reproductive medicine workflows, hysteroscopic polypectomy may be considered in selected women undergoing infertility evaluation, recurrent implantation assessment, or assisted reproductive treatment planning when endometrial polyps are identified.

Hysteroscopic polypectomy forms part of broader gynecological endoscopy, reproductive surgery, endometrial assessment, and individualized reproductive medicine workflows at Krishna IVF.
