A Memorable Evening with the Trivandrum Fertility Society
Last weekend, I had the privilege of being invited as the speaker for the very first CME of the Trivandrum Fertility Society, held on 30th August 2025 at Hotel Hycinth, Trivandrum.
The Experience
From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warmth and collegiality of the local fertility community. The event was beautifully organized under the leadership of Dr. K. Jayakrishnan (Chairperson) and supported by stalwarts like Dr. Sathy M. Pillai and Dr. K. Jayakrishnan (KJK Hospital) as Patrons.
The CME had an intimate, intellectually vibrant atmosphere – exactly what medical education should feel like.

My Session
I had the opportunity to speak on two topics very close to my practice and research:
• Challenges in Ovarian Stimulation
The discussions that followed were enriching. Colleagues shared practical dilemmas and innovative approaches, reminding me that while evidence-based guidelines form the backbone of ART, local context and patient individuality always demand thoughtful adaptation.
Reflections
• It was heartening to see the enthusiasm of young clinicians, eager to refine their skills and explore new therapies responsibly.
• The society’s emphasis on scientific rigor with clinical empathy reflects the evolving face of reproductive medicine in India.
• Personally, it was a fulfilling experience to contribute, learn, and reconnect with peers who share the same mission: helping couples achieve their dream of parenthood with safety, compassion, and science.
Gratitude
My heartfelt thanks to the Trivandrum Fertility Society office bearers – Dr. Sheila Balakrishnan (President), Dr. Reji Mohan, Dr. Ramgopal M. Pillai, and the entire team – for their flawless coordination. The thoughtful hospitality and engaging conversations made it an evening to remember.
The CME concluded with a warm dinner, where professional discussions seamlessly blended with camaraderie – a reminder that medicine is as much about human connection as it is about technology and protocols
