Follicular suppression is done during Luteal phase of her previous cycle in between 18th to 24th day, using decapeptyl / lupride after basal scan. These hormonal injections help to reduce the reproductive hormones to low levels and control the reproductive environment from outside. Long acting single dose injection of decapeptyl or lupride which acts on pituitary to reduce the production of FSH & LH hormones are used.
Down Regulation:
Initially the patients will be given Decapeptyl / Lupraide / Buserelin / GNRH injection in between 18th to 24th day of her menstrual period (the ,day of bleeding is the first day). After that the doctor advise the patient for blood test to determine levels of (E2, LH) . If they are satisfactory, stimulation will be done to develop more number of eggs. Decapeptyl helps reducing reproductive ormones to low levels and control the reproductive environment from outside. This is done by long acting single dose injection of Decapeptyl or Lupride which acts on the pituitary to reduce the production of FSH and LH hormones. The same effect can also be achieved by giving daily injections of short acting GNRH / Lupride / Busrelin. The purpose is same for long acting or short acting.
