The male infertility is multi factorial and specific diagnostic tests are required to evaluate the cause of infertility. Our laboratory offers a wide variety of tests that helps in the treatment of fertility issues.

  • Semen analysis-CASA
  • Sperm DNA Fragmentation
  • Sperm aneuploidy.
  • Hormone evaluation.
  • Sperm function tests.

Semen analysis is a part of the initial diagnostic work up of the infertile couple. This show the facts that male factor is contributing to infertility or not. Sernen parameters are being related with passing years. Normal semen can reported abnormal if not correctly collected and handled.

Semen Analysis by SCA-Computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA):

Semen analysis is the most common laboratory investigation used for evaluation of male infertility. It is also performed after vasectomy as a part of birth control program. Semen analysis gives the quality and quantity of the sperm like semen volume, sperm count, sperm motility and sperm morphological characteristics which is very important to assess the preliminary cause of infertility. Sperm count, motility, and morphological assessment of spermatozoa have been performed manually with light microscopy. This method of analysis gives variable results between laboratories. The use of computer assisted semen analysis (CASA) enhances the randomness, objectivity, repeatability and accuracy of the procedure and additionally allows identification of subtle characteristics of spermatozoa, which cannot be detected by visual evaluation. Sperm morphometry has been claimed to be one of the strongest indicators of semen quality. The male genetic material that has to be transmitted to their offspring is located in the head of the sperm. As a result the shape of the head reflects the perfect coiling of the DNA and its impact on fertility problems.

At krishna ivf we use ‘Sperm Class Analyser’ CASA System (Computer Assisted Semen Analysis ) , the advantages of the CASA are subjective errors in assessing the sample are avoided , sperm motility can be assessed quantitatively , allows the handling of many samples and allows users to manage . store and analyse results over period of time .

here we assess the following parameters in semen :

  • Motility Concentration
  • Morphology
  • Vitality
  • DNA fragmentation
  • Aniline Blue
  • CMA3

IUI Processing :

They are various techniques used for semen preparation based on the type of sample ( sperm rnotility , count and morphology). Various techniques are

1. Swim -up ,

2. Density Gradient

3. Double Wash & swim up
